With Christmas season now in full flow, it’s heartbreaking to witness the sight of the closed arches along Brixton Station Road and Atlantic Road.
Once home to a thriving strip of independent businesses, traders were evicted in August 2016, and the premises have remained closed ever since.

Advertising boards peddling propaganda for the unpopular redevelopment were first attached to the exteriors of the closed businesses on December 21st 2016.
Two months later they unexpectedly vanished, before being replaced in March 2017.
In August 2017 a fresh set of billboards replaced the original ones. Most are currently covered in graffiti.
